Puffco Peak Vaporizer: The Complete Guide

The Puffco Peak might be the world’s most popular battery-powered dab rig, and you’ll understand the reasons for its popularity when you experience it for the first time. Everything about the Puffco Peak is engineered to deliver the best possible balance between performance and ease of use for dabbing aficionados. If you’ve ever tried another dab rig or wax vaporizer, you understand the shortcomings of the other products all too well. The ones that deliver great performance are way too difficult to use, and the ones that are easy enough for casual dabbers to use simply don’t produce the level of elevation that you want.

The Puffco Peak gives you the best of both worlds, but it’s still helpful to take a few minutes to familiarize yourself with the device before you use it for the first time – and that’s where we’re going to help. In this Puffco Peak guide, we’re going to provide a walkthrough that can get you up and running with your new vaporizer in just a few minutes. Do you want to start enjoying your new device as quickly as possible and save reading the manual for another day? Let’s do it!

How to Charge the Puffco Peak

To charge the Puffco Peak, connect the device to your computer using the included USB cable. You’ll find the charging port on the back of the device. When you connect the Puffco Peak to your computer, the device’s indicator light begins to pulse white. When the charge cycle is complete, the light turns off. You can expect a total charging time of a little over two hours when the Puffco Peak’s battery is completely dead. Don’t attempt to charge the Puffco Peak with a “fast charging” adapter such as the one for your phone or tablet. Fast charging can potentially lead to unsafe charging temperatures with a device not designed to support higher charging currents.

How to Fill the Puffco Peak With Water

Before you begin using the Puffco Peak, you’ll need to get the vaporizer’s glass component ready for use because that’s what provides the device’s water filtration. Because getting water inside the device’s atomizer or other electronic components can cause permanent damage, you should only add water to the glass component after removing it from the device.

Gently tilt the glass away from the atomizer while lifting it out of the device’s base. Add water to the glass until the water level just covers the air openings at the bottom of the glass. After adding water, return the glass to the vaporizer’s base by inserting it at a slight angle and pushing it down gently.

How to Load the Puffco Peak

To load the Puffco Peak, lift the carb cap off of the atomizer and grab a rice-sized dab using the dab tool included with the device. Place the dab in the center of the atomizer and replace the carb cap.

One of the major benefits of the Puffco Peak is that it has a large atomizer that can hold some impressively large dabs. You should increase your dab size slowly, though, as you get to know the device. One reason for that is because you might be surprised by the potency of the experience. You can always add more material to the atomizer if you complete your session and find that you haven’t achieved your desired state of mind.

The other reason why you should avoid adding too much material to the Puffco Peak’s atomizer, though, is because the device’s herb chamber is like a cup that can overflow if you aren’t careful. When the device heats up, the wax in the Puffco Peak’s atomizer will liquify. If it overflows and seeps out of the atomizer, it could damage the device.

Replace the carb cap after adding wax to the atomizer.

How to Vape With the Puffco Peak

When you’re ready to vape, turn the Puffco Peak on by holding the power button on the front until the indicator light turns on. Next, press the power button to select your desired heat level. The Puffco Peak supports four different heat levels. If you’re not certain which heat level to choose, try selecting your temperature based on the amount of material that you’ve placed in the atomizer. The Puffco Peak’s “maximum heat” mode works best with larger loads.

The indicator light changes color to show the currently selected temperature.

  • Blue: low heat
  • Green: medium heat
  • Red: high heat
  • White: maximum heat

After choosing your heat level, press the power button twice to begin vaping. It takes about 20 seconds for the Puffco Peak’s atomizer to reach the selected temperature. While the atomizer heats up, the device’s indicator light pulses. When the device vibrates, it’s done preheating. Place your mouth over the vaporizer’s glass component and inhale gently.

When you’re done vaping, press and hold the power button to turn the Puffco Peak off. Remember that the atomizer and glass are very hot after use, so don’t touch or remove those components until you’ve given the device plenty of time to cool down.

After giving the Puffco Peak an opportunity to cool, remove the carb cap and look inside the atomizer. If you’ve used all of the material, you’ll want to clean the atomizer before vaping again. If the atomizer isn’t empty, leave the leftover material inside it for your next vaping session.

How to Clean the Puffco Peak

Between vaping sessions, you can give the Puffco Peak a quick cleaning by rinsing the glass component and by rubbing the inside of the atomizer with a cotton swab. When you’re ready to give your vaporizer a deeper cleaning, soak the glass, atomizer and carb cap in rubbing alcohol. After soaking those components for several hours, rinse them in clean water and allow them to dry thoroughly before reassembling the device. Remember that rubbing alcohol is highly flammable. In addition, it is important to keep all moisture out of the Puffco Peak’s body and atomizer. Make sure that the device’s components are thoroughly rinsed and completely dry before you resume using them.
